{"id":6447,"date":"2019-02-11T15:22:02","date_gmt":"2019-02-11T14:22:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mipa.institute\/?p=6447"},"modified":"2025-06-28T11:35:57","modified_gmt":"2025-06-28T10:35:57","slug":"how-to-write-policy-briefs-and-research-articles-for-think-tanks-training-program","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mipa.institute\/?p=6447&lang=en","title":{"rendered":"Writing Policy Papers for Think Tanks Training Program"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Moroccan Institute for Policy Analysis invites applications for the third edition of the training program in \u201cWriting Research and Policy Papers for Think Tanks\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #003366;\"><strong>Application deadline: <\/strong><\/span>March 1st, 2019<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #003366;\"><strong>When: <\/strong><\/span>March 16th (Theoretical training) and March 23rd (Practical training)<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #003366;\"><strong>Where: <\/strong><\/span>Moroccan Institute for Policy Analysis, Rabat, Morocco<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #003366;\"><strong>Who can apply?<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Motivated graduate students (both MA and Doctoral students), and professional journalists with an interest in policy analysis<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #003366;\"><strong>How to apply?<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Interested applicants are requested to send the following documents as an email attachment to <a href=\"mailto:contact@mipa.institute\">contact@mipa.institute<\/a> <strong>before March 1<sup>st<\/sup>.<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li>A brief summary (max. 500 words) of a research\/policy paper proposal that falls within the research interests of the institute (institutional reforms, democratic transition, economic development, social movement, religious policies and foreign policy);<\/li>\n<li>A detailed curriculum vitae;<\/li>\n<li>Scans of obtained diplomats and academic degrees;<\/li>\n<li>Publications (if any);<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #003366;\"><strong>Why take part in this training?<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The trainings are geared towards sharing the expertise of the Institute with young researchers, as well as preparing the next generation of researchers by building their skills and knowledge in the workings of research institutions and Think Tanks.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #003366;\"><strong>Methodology of the trainings<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The trainings consist of a theoretical part and a practical part. The theoretical part (March 16<sup>th<\/sup>) focuses on the theoretical aspects of policy analysis. It aims at introducing the participants to the different methodologies of work used by Think Tanks as well as techniques of writing policy papers. The practical part (March 23<sup>rd<\/sup>) aims to help the participants translate the theoretical knowledge they have acquired from the first training into writing and developing policy papers. During this second part of the training, the participants will bifurcate into three or four working groups.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #003366;\"><strong>About MIPA<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Moroccan Institute for Policy Analysis is a non-profit independent research institution based in Rabat, Morocco. Founded by a group of transdisciplinary researchers, MIPA\u2019s mission is to produce systematic and in-depth analysis of relevant policy issues that lead to new and innovative ideas for solving some of the most pressing issues relating to democracy.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">MIPA\u2019s main activity is to produce systematic, in-depth, accurate and objective analysis of policy relevant issues.
