The New Generation and Environmental Activism: Youth Perspectives and Aspirations for a Just Climate

The Moroccan Institute for Policy Analysis (MIPA) is pleased to invite you to an online webinar held within the framework of the DIRAIA project, addressing the role of the new generation in environmental activism amid escalating climate challenges. In the context of worsening climate impacts, young people in Morocco and the region are emerging as a dynamic force reimagining environmental action and advocating for a more just and sustainable future. Despite high levels of awareness regarding climate change, organized participation in environmental initiatives remains limited, even as willingness to engage more actively continues to grow.

This webinar aims to explore Moroccan youth perceptions of the climate crisis and environmental justice, analyze their aspirations as well as the tools and strategies they employ in mobilization and advocacy, and examine the structural and social barriers that constrain their effective participation. It also seeks to identify pathways for empowering youth to lead environmental change at both national and local levels.

This webinar is organized as part of the DIRAIA project, a partnership between the Moroccan Institute for Policy Analysis and the Arab Reform Initiative, with support from the International Development Research Centre (IDRC).
