The training program is designed to help young scholars, activists and journalists develop their skills of practical, policy-relevant writing and communication. Academic work and the policy field often reveal a gap between them, leaving policy makers in want of serious analysis and research, and academics unable to inform policy based on their research. The public policy paper writing is aimed at training a group of young researchers and professionals from Morocco to bridge that gap and become effective participants of sound policy discussions.
The training takes place across two days of knowledge sharing and joint work. Then, potential authors go through a program mentorship until the publication of their policy papers. Each participant is assigned a mentor to follow the policy paper writing and publication process. The most successful policy papers produced within the framework of this program may be published in the Moroccan Institute for Policy Anlysis publication platform. Sessions include lectures, discussion, group work, and peer-editing sessions.
