Call for Applications: MIPA Policy Papers Award

The Moroccan Institute for Policy Analysis (MIPA) is pleased to announce a Competition aimed at selecting the best two policy papers on key issues pertaining to:
- social contract,
- institutional trust,
- foreign affairs,
- public sector performance,
- political economy,
- educational reform,
- digitalization,
- agricultural policy and water consumption.
We encourage writers to explore these topics from various angles and perspectives, delving into nuanced analyses, empirical studies, and innovative policy proposals. Submissions should aim to contribute to constructive dialogues and offer actionable recommendations for policymakers, practitioners, and researchers. Whether you have expertise in one of the major themes or wish to propose an alternative topic that aligns with our broader mission of promoting evidence-based policy development, we invite you to submit your policy paper for consideration.
The prize:
First paper: 5000 MAD
Second paper: 3000 MAD
Eligibility:
This competition is open to doctoral students, early career scholars, journalists, professionals, researchers, and policy-makers.
Submission Guidelines:
- Policy papers must be original and not previously published elsewhere.
- Papers should be between 2000 and 2500 words and adhere to the conditions and guidelines outlined on the MIPA website.

- Authors are encouraged to provide clear and concise analyses, supported by relevant data and evidence.
- Submissions must be titled “Policy Papers Award” and sent before July 30th, 2024, at 12 pm (Morocco time) to research@mipa.institute.
- All submitted papers will undergo a rigorous review process by our panel of experts specializing in the research area proposed. Following this review, the shortlist and final list of winners will be announced based on the committee’s deliberations.
Language:
MIPA welcomes submissions in both Arabic and English, in accordance with the institute’s guidelines for the production and publication of policy papers.
Dissemination:
MIPA will translate the winning papers into Arabic or English after publishing them in their original language. MIPA will also publish the winning papers on its website and social networks, and they will be circulated to the press, national and international research institutions, and a select group of decision-makers, experts, and local and international researchers.
