Call for Applications: PhD Fellowship at the Moroccan Institute for Policy Analysis (MIPA)

The Moroccan Institute for Policy Analysis (MIPA) is excited to announce a competition for a prestigious PhD Fellowship. This fellowship offers an exciting opportunity for PhD students to join MIPA for a period of three months to conduct research and write a policy paper under the guidance and support of MIPA’s research staff.

 

Fellowship Details:

• Duration: Three months (Between July and December, 2024)
• Monthly Stipend: 5000 Moroccan Dirhams (MAD) per month
• Location: Moroccan Institute for Policy Analysis (MIPA) office

Benefits: The selected fellow will have access to MIPA’s extensive research resources, mentorship from experienced researchers, and opportunities for professional development.

Dissemination: MIPA will publish the policy paper on its website and social networks. The paper will also be circulated to the press, national and international research institutions, and a select group of decision-makers, experts, and local and international researchers.

 

Eligibility Criteria:

• Applicants must be currently enrolled in a PhD program in social sciences, sciences or related fields.
• Strong interest in policy analysis and research.
• Excellent writing and analytical skills.
• Fluency in English and Arabic.

 

Application Process:

Interested candidates are invited to submit the following documents to research@mipa.institute

Curriculum Vitae (CV) highlighting academic qualifications, research experience, and publications.

• Letter of Motivation (maximum 500 words) outlining the candidate’s research interests, relevant experience, and reasons for applying for the fellowship.
• Research Proposal (maximum 500 words) describing the proposed policy paper topic, research questions, methodology, and potential policy implications.
• Letter of Recommendation from a supervisor or academic mentor.

 

Selection Process:

• While we invite submissions on major topics such as Social contract, Institutional trust, Foreign affairs, Public sector performance, Political economy, Educational reform, Digitalization, and Agricultural policy and water consumption, we also welcome submissions on other related themes that may not be explicitly listed here.
• Applications will be reviewed by a selection committee comprised of MIPA’s research staff.
• Shortlisted candidates will be invited for an interview.
• Deadline for Applications: June 10^th, 2024.
