On March 23rd, 2019, the Moroccan Institute for Policy Analysis (MIPA) organized in partnership with the European Endowment for Democracy the third edition of the training program “Writing Policy Papers for Think Tanks.”
The director of MIPA, Dr. Mohammed Masbah, orchestrated the event that brought together researchers, young journalists, and civil society activists. This training consists of two parts. The first part aimed at equipping participants with the theoretical knowledge needed in understanding the process of policy making and policy analysis. This would empower participants in effectively understanding the life cycles of public policies, methodology, and the various stages of writing. These stages include the beginning steps of brainstorming the subject, outlining the main arguments, and finally stylizing the finished product.
The second part of the training will be held on April 6th and aims at working with the participants to develop their own policy papers.
The Moroccan Institute for Policy Analysis is a non-profit independent research institution based in Rabat, Morocco. Founded by a group of transdisciplinary researchers, MIPA’s mission is to produce systematic and in-depth analysis of relevant policy issues that lead to new and innovative ideas for solving some of the most pressing issues relating to democracy.
Part of MIPA’s mission is also to train young researchers and academics in the policy analysis domain. The trainings are geared towards preparing the next generation of researchers and academics to take the next step in their careers and build their skills to be able to produce in-depth effective analyses of relevant policy matters.
